Our Trustees and Volunteers
Meet the people behind Our Street Our Children. A small team of volunteers who give their time, expertise, and commitment to children in Nepal.
The people who make it happen
The OSOC team is a remarkable mix of people. Healthcare professionals, recruiters, social workers, communication professionals, and strategists each bringing something different to the table and all united by the same purpose: giving children in Nepal the chance to flourish.
Nobody on the UK board receives a penny for their time. Every trustess and volunteer gives freely, showing up, rolling up their sleeves, all because they believe in the children OSOC serves. That commitment is what keeps the charity running.
The funds raised here in the UK go directly where they are needed most, paying for skilled professionals in Nepal who teach, support, and care for children in Narayangarh every single day. Our UK team makes that possible. Our Nepal team makes it real.
What unites everyone on this page across different backgrounds, different skills, and different connections to Nepal is the simple belief that every child deserves the chance to thrive. That belief is the heartbeat of OSOC.
OSOC has no paid UK staff. Every trustee gives their time freely, which means other than expenses every penny donated goes directly to running the charity and supporting children in Nepal.
The board of Trustees
Our trustees bring a wide range of skills and backgrounds. What unites them is a belief that every child deserves the chance to flourish.
Louis has served as Chair of board of Trustees since 2024. A children’s nurse by background, his career has been dedicated to the care and recovery of young people and he now supports and trains the next generation of nurses to do the same.Having been part of OSOC since it began, Louis brings both deep roots and real enthusiasm to his leadership of the board. Watching his parents Jackie and Dave establish the charity in Nepal inspired him early on, and that inspiration has only grown. He is proud of the difference the charity’s programmes make and is committed to growing OSOC’s reach and impact in the years ahead. He is always keen to welcome new people into the OSOC family.
Anusha joined the OSOC board of Trustees in 2025 and has already made a tremendous impact, leading on marketing and communications for the charity. Originally from Nepal, she brings something truly special to the board, a deep, personal connection to the country and communities that OSOC serves, combined with the ability to communicate fluently in both English and Nepali. That bilingual skill is invaluable, allowing OSOC to communicate more authentically with partners and communities in Narayangarh. Anusha’s cultural insight and genuine passion for the charity’s mission make her an outstanding addition to the team, and her contribution continues to grow.
Joe has been a trustee of OSOC since 2021 and serves as Secretary to the board, keeping everything running smoothly and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. In 2014, he travelled to Nepal and saw OSOC’s work up close, spending his days supporting street children and teaching English in the homework club. It is an experience he describes as genuinely life-changing. In his professional life, Joe is a Senior Manager at the recruitment consultancy Hays. Based in Cardiff, he brings energy, dedication, and a great deal of organisational skill to the board. Outside of work, you’ll find him playing sport or putting in the effort at the gym.
Nick joined the board of Trustees in 2023. Nick leads on our charity’s website and is passionate about making sure OSOC’s story reaches as many people as possible. He brings over 18 years of rich experience in the charity sector, having worked as a Centre Manager, Development Officer, and Assistant Pastor before finding his niche in charity recruitment. He now thrives as a Senior Consultant with Charisma Charity Recruitment, connecting brilliant people with roles that genuinely matter in the charity sector. Outside of OSOC, Nick loves introducing his two children to the films, music and games that shaped his own childhood. He is also an enthusiastic record collector and a self-confessed coffee snob with strong opinions on both.
Varya is the most recent and very welcome addition to the OSOC board, joining as a Trustee in July 2026. She brings with her an exceptional wealth of experience. A partnerships and development strategist with over 15 years working across the United Nations, international organisations, civil society, and the private sector, she has spent her career aligning institutions, mobilising capital, and designing cross-sector strategies to tackle complex development challenges. That expertise is a tremendous asset for OSOC. Varya understands the international development landscape from the inside, and her ability to think strategically about how organisations like OSOC can grow their impact makes her an outstanding addition to the team. We are thrilled to have her on board.

Our Key Volunteers
Our volunteers are people who go above and beyond because they care deeply about children in Nepal. We are grateful for every one of them.
Dave supports the OSOC board in a non-Trustee capacity as our Treasurer. A retired social worker, he spent a year living in Nepal supporting street children, volunteering in an orphanage, and teaching in a homework club. It was during that time that Dave and his wife Jackie, together with people from the local Nepali community, founded Our Street Our Children. Back in the UK, they established OSOC (UK) to raise funds for projects in Nepal. Dave returns occasionally to visit existing projects, maintain close relationships and explore new opportunities to make a difference.
